Joe Burns
Joe’s love of flowers started at the age of 7 years old. He recalls growing small plants and selling them up and down the street in his little red wagon. As a young man, he went on to refine his flower growing skills as a 4-H member. During his time in 4-H, he had three key projects: gardening, photography, and bee keeping. Unknown to Joe at the time, these 3 interests would bring great enjoyment throughout the rest of his life and would be the basis of Bees N’ Blooms. After 4-H, Joe studied at Auburn University, where he received a degree in Horticulture. He continued his education at Virginia Tech where he received his master’s degree in Horticulture. After a 10 year landscaping career Joe started a seasonal flower company, Color Burst. This is where he met Taylor and began to teach a young girl with little knowledge of growing flowers all he knew.
Today, joe oversees all of the growing and field operations for bees n’ blooms. his experience and knowledge of growing and tending to our flowers cannot be duplicated! however, he continues to enjoy the challenges each season brings. From trying more efficient ways of growing to trialing new and hard to grow flowers, his passion to learn and love for growing never stops.
Fun Facts: Joe’s favorite flower is the coco orange marigold. He enjoys this flower for its prolific blooming and long vase life.
